Abstract

Ouarian samples were collected from 30 non- pregnant she-cwnels.the ovarian follicles ides were classlfl.ed according to size and morphology into small. medium and large follicles- Pollicular fluid samples were analyzed for total protein. glucose. urea, uric acid. total bLlirubin, electrolytes sodium and potasSium Tolal lipids. cholesterol and Insulin hormone were eslimaled. The results revealed that, there was no significant variation in the levels urea. urtc acid and total bilirubin. there was a significant Increased in the levl of total protein. glucose, insulin hormone, total llipids and sodium in the folllcular fluld as follicles increases in their size. In contrast, there was a signficanl decreased in the follicular fluid levels of both cholesterol and potassium in lhe large size follicles. It is concluded that the biochemical and physiological changes that occurs during follicular development could be of crulcial importance for follicular growth. Oocyte maturation and affect ovulalton and furiher fertilizalion of oocyle
