To obtain maximum growth and high yield of toxins of different strains of clostridia ( C. perfringens types B & D, C. oedmatiens, C. septicum, C. chauvoei ), optimum (7) and sugar concentration ( 1.5%) were applied on cultures in fermentor and flasks. Toxin yield and growth rate were markedly improved by cultivation in fermentor as it reached twice than those produced under uncontrolled conditions, which in turn very useful for vaccine production.
